transport_client_config.ini
citation :
debug=false
log_verbose=false
log_to_file=false
clientprefs_main.def
citation :
bool debugLogsEnabled = false
bool detailedServerLogsEnabled = false
int renderBitsDepth = 24
remplacer 24 par 16 et à :
int renderBitsColor = 24
remplacer également 24 par 16

Autre chose récupéré sur les forums IGN.
REGLAGE PC POUR BONNES PERFS.
Install Latest version of DirectX.
Get proper DirectX version compliant drivers for your video and sound cards.
Set a permanent swap file of 1.75-2.5 times total ram. Preferably on a slave drive.
Scandisk and then Defrag.
Driver Settings:
Under D3D tab:
Ansiotropic filtering: Application preference OR, 2 or 4.
Anti-aliasing: Disabled, or Performance / Application preference.
Vertical Sync: ON
32bit Z-buffer support: Off
W-buffer support: Off
Texture Quality: Highest
Mipmap Quality: Highest
Tip:
Close down Yahoo/AIM/ICQ/Virus scanners, they give horizons a fit. Especially Y! and ICQ. Alt tabbing in Windows XP at this time is bad, it is crash happy.
And make sure to run your desktop at the same resolution/color depth as Horizon's.
IN-GAME Settings:
Run in Full screen mode.
GeForce3/Radeon 8500-9200 line: 800x600
(Highest refresh setting available from driver.)
GeForce4 4600+/Radeon 9600+ lines: 1024x784
(Highest refresh setting available from driver.)
Texture Settings:
512mb ram: Medium - Lowest
784-1024 megs: Medium - High
1.5gig+ mb ram: High-Highest
Terrain texture: Medium or lower for most systems, its nice to have it rendered beautifully but really, its not that bad even on lowest settings. (less than 784 ram, on win-xp, set it at low or lowest)
If terrain on lowest setting, disable Terrain Texture LOD, its useless at lowest texture quality and just lowers framerate even more.
Terrain Model LoD distance should not exceed the distance on max view distance.
View distance should never really exceed 33% of slider bar, Running it around 20% is fine for most modern (less than a year old) system. If you got a 1.2-1.8ghz CPU and only 512 megs, you'll wanna kick view distance down to 10-15%.
Max Visible characters shouldn't really be set past half way for normal models, but you can crank placeholders and low detail up all the way.
Sound, best to turn off 3D sound, Creative's EAX is notorious for being system resource hungry.
Character Model LoD, set that on but to lowest quality, same for character model LoD/quality. Will help TONS in crowded cities.
Terrain/Object LoD (Buildings): Enabled
Cloth Simulation: Off
Decals: Off
Free Movement: ON
Those helped a bit, for me. But the GREATEST increase in performance came from the following tweaks in the game files via Notepad.
In ClientPrefs_Main.def there are the following lines, make sure they look as follows. If set to true, turn to false.
bool logXML = false
bool debugLogsEnabled = false
bool detailedServerLogsEnabled = false
Another setting setting:
bool freeMoveCombat = true
(No more lagging around in melee or hitting the silly stop button to move.)
After doing that, delete the logs_old folder, and clean the logs folder of all files.
Within the Horizon's "world_cache" folder delete its contents. All folders routinely to keep matienence up. It will add a single reload download for each area after each cleaning but it keeps HZ running prim and proper.
Once having done that there are but a few remaining tweaks till you're done.
Within the file ClientPrefs_Graphic.def there are where the following settings are changed. Save a backup of the current one incase your game does not like the settings so you may revert.
Check your Video Card's max Horizontal refresh rate in windows by Display Settings->Advanced->Adapter->RefreshRate dropdown menu. If it is not set to the highest it is allowed, or the highest your hardware supports do so, remember this number for its used in the tweak. (NOT Optimal, a numerical setting.)
Once that number is found you go back to ClientPrefs_Graphic.def and set the following setting.
float maxFrameRate = XXX
Where XXX = your refreshrate's Hz(Hertz).
More settings:
bool headBobbingEnabled = false
bool headBobbingInCombatOnlyEnabled = false
Shadows eat up alot of frames, so.. make sure they are turned off..
bool displayDynamicRealShadows = false
bool displayStaticRealShadows = false
bool displayDynamicBlobShadows = false
bool displayStaticBlobShadows = false
Last setting:
bool enableBackBufferCopy = true
Turning this on for me made a huge playability increase, in frame smoothness. Try it at your own risk of system stability. It will not hurt your hardware.. but it may make the game unstable.
ATI cards seem to like this setting however.
These picked me up a good 15-20 FPS out of towns and about 10FPS in towns. In conjunction they made the game quite playable and smooth, Save in Dalimond, and Tazoon, which are laggy due to their size/structure/populations
